Sain Records

SAIN is Wales’ leading record company, reflecting the whole spectrum of Welsh music, and specializing in Welsh-language songs and the work of artists and composers, in all genres, based in Wales. The company was established in Cardiff in 1969 and published its first record that year.

The office was moved from Cardiff to Llandwrog, near Caernarfon, in 1971, and in 2008 Sain opened a third studio, which produced cartoons for S4C, and post-produced radio programs, television and film. (Description adapted from the Sain website)

Cerdd Ystwyth

Clera

The first 'Folk Workshop' was held in 1995, with funding from the Department of Lifelong Learning PCB,and among the tutors was Robin Huw Bowen on the triple harp. Over the following year, a number of meetings were held to discuss the possibility of establishing a national movement to promote and practise traditional instruments and music, and 'Clera - the Association of Traditional Instruments of Wales' was formed officially at the National Eisteddfod in Llandeilo in 1996.
